Casa Rio Blanco is a small award winning family run bed and breakfast located near the Caribbean slope town Guapiles. It was one of the first ecolodges in Costa Rica that opened it{s doors to nature lovers in 1993 and it is now being run as a bed and breakfast. The lodge features three all wood cottages perched on a cliff overlooking the rainforest and the river below. The cottages are rustic but basic and comfortable. The screened windows allow for lots of fresh air flow in the bedroom. The upper garden is well maintained and is a great host to lots of animals. Toucans, parrots, green macaws, iguanas, sloths, poison dart frogs, tree frogs, armadillos, kinkajous, black tyras, white nose caotis and many other critters can be observed here. A recently rehabilitated trail leads you from the lodge to the forest and river below where you can enjoy the beauty of the rainforest and numerous natural jacuzzis in the river.

The lodge is centrally located and is a good base to explore the Braulio Carillo National Park sector Quebrada Gonzales, the Rainforest Aerial Tram and Tortuguero National Park. Other activities such as rafting on the Pacuare river and Waterfall rappelling are nearby. We can also assist in booking many activities to enhance your stay including: a 8 hr hike up to and back from the beautiful Rio Blanco Waterfall (weather dependent), Waterfall Rappelling, Rain forest Tours, Massages, and Fishing!
